I know it has been mentioned before that if you have a Rallye Dash ( A62) on the fender tag you automatically got the 3 speed wiper ( J25) on the tag. Is this correct?? or maybe if you didn't have (J25) on the tag you just got the 2 speed with your Rallye dash.

Thoughts please....

As far as I have seen, I don't think the 3 speed came with the standard dash in 1970.

That's correct, but could a 2 speed wiper come with the Rallye Dash?

My 70 Standard dash has the 3 speed, date code makes sense, you are saying that wasn't stock and changed along the way?

3spd wiper was optionally available with standard dash. See option package A04.

3spd wiper was included as part of the A62 Rallye Instrument cluster.
I have seen quite a few cars converted to Rallye Clusters and still retaining the 2spd motor.

3-speed windshield wipers were included with A04 (basic group), A62 (rallye cluster) and available separately as J25

Hamtramck did NOT code J25 on the fender tag - Los Angeles did

if the car left the factory with A62 (rallye cluster) it left the factory with J25 (3-speed windshield wipers)

So I guess mine was swapped out along the way for a 2 speed motor, arms and switch. Bizarre

Does the car have the original fender tag, or a reproduction tag ?

Is your car a JH or a JS? of the first two digits of your VIN.  :alan2cents:

More than likely the rallye dash was added at some point, and they kept the 2-speed wipers.

Do you have the build sheet for your car--3 speed wiper would be called out on it.

also,
2-speed wipers have a foot pump for the windshield washers
VS.
3-speed wipers have an electric motor on the washer reservoir

valman

I do not have a build sheet for the car
It is a JS23 vin car with A62 on the fender tag
I believe the fender tag to be original because I studied a lot of fake ones and new what to look for ( ie font not all lining up ) but I could be wrong  all the body vin numbers were there.
It never had a washer bottle or foot pump in it when I bought it
