I'm being asked if I would accept a refund of $60. Seriously? They "no longer have this item in stock to send a replacement".

What should my next move be? To inquire about filing a claim with UPS? I'd rather this go back and for my $390 to be returned, or to receive a HEAVY discount. If they offered $60 then it's very likely that I won't get a "heavy" discount.

Like I said, the trunk lid is repairable if you have some decent bodywork chops. But it shouldn't be my responsibility to do so. You'll have to use a skim coat of filler with this trunk lid after working it.

Are they saying no return because it is a sale? This is damaged goods so should not apply. They should give you back your money.

I went through this with a vendor and gave them labor to repair the condition. I said that a body shop quoted 1.5hr of repair [or whatever] at $90/hr to repair and that's what I need to offset the damage.

That's a really good point. I'll let them know of that suggestion.

I have a good shop that I use for paint work. I'll ask if I can bring this trunk lid by and have them quote me for the repair. It's likely to be more than $60. Maybe $100-150. Hard to tell.

If they decline, then I'll have to request to return the lid.

I dealt with Tamraz before on a problem and they did me right in the end. I'd keep trying.

Test fit the lid before you bother, the AMD trunk lid I got was a mess.
Looked ok to the naked eye, but once laid on car, >1/2" gap that could not be fixed.
They have tooling problems and it's hit or miss......

It's not going to touch my car until I get money in the bank!

You're missing my point, would hate for you get $150 to fix some dings, then find out the lid can't be bent to lay flat.

As an old school bodyman, if you brought that deck lid to me, I'd want 3-4 hours repair time to knock out the dents and bends. You calculate at whatever the rate is in your neck of the woods. The amount of filler should be quite minimal unless there's more than meets the eye here and getting another one might not be any better, though one can hope! Either way, it probably beats the rusty one on now, eh?

My bodyshop said to send it back without question. They said they would bill easily for 8 hours. The rolled edges will cause major fitment issues--they would actually need the car in order to repair it properly. A couple little dings here and there are acceptable, but not rolled edges and bent corners.

They said if they received a lid like this in the mail they would send it back. The hours/materials to repair it would either meet or exceed $400.

Aside from the damaged corner, there is actually two rolled edges that are about 8" in length. My pictures only show one rolled edge.

Welp my order was cancelled. I placed it on 12/28 and waited around for a tracking number. Finally called today and was informed that it was out of stock at the time of order.

Disappointing. Also annoying that I had to initiate the call to find out.

Goody, the whole order or just the decklid? I've been waiting for 13 items and still haven't got a tracking number. Looks like I might have to call as well but if I get the same message, I'm going to tell them I'll wait until they get more. At half price, I can be patient.

Ok. Most of my order was for a car I haven't got back to yet so in a way, it's actually better so I'm not storing big boxes. As long as they come through in the end of course.
