They look like real bids too.  I would take the reserve off if I was him.

@Cuda Cody  Has it past your level of consideration ? or are you still bidding ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

At $9k I'm going to step aside.  If it was a solid project I would be "in it to win it".  But not with that much rust.

You still in on it?

Can't get this color combo out of my head.  Barry said he has records that there were two like this that came down the line around the same time or one right after another.  Not even sold cars!

Look closely at the inner front fender area.  Does it look like it's been hit in the front?  Why the small wrinkle in the metal?  Please someone bid so I can stop thinking about it....   :ebay:

I went back and looked quite close at the pictures. Short of doing a tag transplant, you will have 10K +/- in needed sheet metal and then you have to weld it all up, and now you have over 25k invested and the big money is now gone as the car has very little original body panels. As the old saying goes, you can't make money building cars and selling them, you can make money restoring other peoples cars, direct quote from Roger Gibson years ago at the Portland swap meet.

Yes, it is still a cool car, but honestly, when this one is done, I suspect only 10% of it will be original as it rolled off the line. Oh, and the wrinkle in the passenger inner fender to bend this much had to stretch/bend metal in other areas to get to where it looks like it does. But does not matter, since it will be replaced along with the other 90% of the metal.

I sugar coated for you Cody, do you want to know what I really think.  :pokeeye: :pokeeye:  LOL

Now go find another Hemi Cuda.   :ohyeah:

Hmm: I think you're right. I looked it over real well again and you will end up with a car without the original drivetrain and with pretty much all replacement metal which isn't a good combination especially with a 4 bbl car. At the price it's at now the seller would be way ahead to lower the reserve and kick it out.

I was in Vegas last weekend when this car came up on CL so I looked at it Monday morning. I didn't have long because I had to catch my plane but ya it's rough. I know the rear frame rails are quite bad. He seemed like a nice guy..... Anyway I passed on it because it's too big of a project for me. Still I think I would love to have it and I hope it gets saved.
Keep yer foot in it

In over 20 years of being around these cars I have never seen an orange with red interior from the factory from any body style.  Very interesting car.

That color combo is going to look really sweet!  Man I want it.   :pullinghair:

Looks like a light bump in the front from an accident to me?   :notsure:  Nothing that the new metal can't fix.

Nice video! That thing looks way more solid then I expected. Cody what's a couple more grand really? Just buy it.  If you want me to buy one of your 71's I'll help you out...

I really like this car...but not $12K like....For me I'd likely have $20K+ CDN invested just to buy it and get it home.
Needs and $80K CDN worth of restoration.....So $100K CDN or $70K USD invested.

What would it sell for?

Not numbers matching.
No build sheet.
Love it or hate it combination.
Only a 383 auto.

$50K USD ?
$60K USD ?

I would love to be the one to restore it for sure :drooling:

I think you are low on your prices Alan.  I think price depends on location. Maybe cars are cheaper out there in the east but here in BC cars are not cheap. My friend sold his car in the spring of 2016. Originally was a 71 challenger 383 auto b5 blue. He painted it red, added a vinyl top , put a 4 spd and a rt stripe and he sold it for just over 65K . I always look at what you think cars are worth. I think I need to find a car you restore and buy it off the owner for cheap

anlauto

Yea Cody...buy it....I'll give you a deal on the restoration so you don't get your hands dirty... :bigmoney:
