RUNCHARGER

Of course I'm thinking I could hang some new parts on that and lighten the car up at the same time......

So, basically, if the airbags deploy, the car is totaled.

No not necessarily! if the cost of repair exceeds 80% of the value of said vehicle then they will total it. air bag replacement, all seat belt parts that were affected, body control module and reprogramming get expensive!!!  :alan2cents:    Mark.

My point is that it's a pretty solid looking car they are parting out in that picture. Hard to believe it isnt just being fixed and driven!

I don't know how they do it in the States, but up here in the Great White North, it's a simple calculation. If the damages plus the salvage value (and they could be on a contract with varying percentages) exceeds the replacement (of the specific year, make and model) cost including the applicable taxes; it's a goner. Some places, like in Ontario, will brand the car as "salvage" if specific parts require replacement, but they can be rebuilt and reinspected, but will always show on the ownership as "rebuilt" . Something's weird here and I wonder how they're selling new fenders and rads off an obviously front end damaged car.

Stated as new parts.
Looks to me like someone was going to fix it. Bought some parts, then changed their mind? For whatever reason?
