The hobby is getting back to being a hobby -- as in you spend money on it because it gives you enjoyment, not necessarily to get a positive financial return from it.

With the border being more-or-less closed, IMHO it's probably worth a C$5K premium if a decent E-body is already on Canadian soil and has been imported properly.

As for the price of the car, $10K of AMD + $10K of metal related labour costs doesn't go that far anymore.

Call me crazy but I see $25k in that project for sure. Especially for the end result your friend wants. The ill fitting AMD tin for my son's 68 Charger came to $15k CDN and then there is a bunch of hours to make it fit.

I agree with blown motor. Too much money for a column shift automatic with a standard dash and no drive train.

You guys are missing the point here...I spoke with the new owner yesterday...This thing is 110% RUST FREE with minor pitting on the trunk floor only and with the exception of the hood it's 100% original sheet metal...never hit....

He could care less about the column shift automatic, etc...etc... this time next year it will have a 392 Hemi 5speed transmission, custom suspension etc...etc...

Buy a $10K rust bucket and put $15K worth of Taiwan sheet metal plus your time........OR just pony up the $25K first

110% rust free and end up a high end resto mod. then I agree it is worth the premium. I have spent hours try to get aftermarket sheet metal to fit properly. I have also tried different aftermarket tin makers and some are better than but not as good as original Detroit parts
