Thanks for the feedback @JS29! I was worried that might be the case. So on the back of the fuel gauge are two screw posts. One is marked DBL (for dark blue) and the other is not marked. On a non-SE car, the DBL wire from the tank sending unit connects to the DBL post and the black common (to the other gauges) wire goes to the non marked post on the gauge. My gas gauge works fine this way. Since my car is a SE, I want the overhead console light to work.

Question: On a SE, I assume you leave the tank sending unit plug into the DBL post on the gauge. Unplug the common black wire and plug in the other blue wire? Is there anyway to test this circuit?

Correct.... As far as testing the blue wire from the low fuel relay should provide 5V & depending on the ohm reading it should close the low fuel relay to turn on the light....

It's Alive!! Thanks for all of the input.

Frustrated by the wiring diagrams in the Service Manual. I believe my wiring is mostly original and the harnesses still have the p/n tags. My car is a SE with the A01 option and the wiring diagrams aren't specific to that combination. Also, laying under a dash for hours at a time...

If you haven't already done so, taking the seats out helps when working under the dash. That and lots of light.

For the diagrams, did you see this?

Yes, I have downloaded those diagrams. I need to print them out and combine the diagrams that cover two pages.
