You have to pay attention to the type of battery and it's cycle type .. then make sure you are using the correct type of charger.   But .. everyone once in a while .. you'll get a lemon ... lol

As I mentioned earlier, I ordered my group 27.

That was in late March.

Today I called Tom at Restoration Battery to get an update on when it's going to ship out.

He told me that Antique Auto Battery who is in charge of inventory, manufacturing, and distribution failed to keep up on their inventory.
As they were running low on the Mopar batteries; they didn't put in a new order for the Battery cases.

The Battery cases are being made out of Mexico.
When they get an order it takes a month to fill it and then another 2 weeks until they receive them.

So as it stands now, it'll be another 6-8 weeks, maybe longer.  ::)

Just wanted to let others here know that if you plan on getting a restoration Battery, you better order now if you want it by July.

No guarantee of course.  :dunno:

I followed up with Tom last week and he said call Antique Auto Battery.

They're still waiting for the cases to be made out of Mexico.   :headbang:

I'll be lucky if I get it by the end of June.   :verymad:

Thanks for the update.  I remember them taking forever when I order mine too.  Glad I ordered it way in front of when I needed it, but they will need to make an improvement on their time or people will find a better way.

e-mail Tom:

Thanks so very much for your patience
They have assured us that they are building these batteries this week.

All should be shipped out by Friday or at the latest on Monday
As we indicated, the manufacturing plant is under new management – and have yet to get "it' together to get production moving in the right direction!
But rest assured that you are still on our order list

Say guys, since we're on the subject of batteries. In the garage I have one of those fiberglass covers that were on late 70's Chrysler products. It slips over the top of the battery, wig access to the terminals. I'm guessing it insulates the battery from under hood heat. Kind of a white/yellowish color in fiberglass, a factory item I'm pretty sure. At the same time I was there at the u-pick yard I pulled a factory carb heat shield for a single throat. Made of a thin aluminum topped with what could be a piece of Bakelite or fiberglass??? How many times have these items been seen?    Thanks,   Al

91 days later it finally arrived.   :clapping:

I wanted it for the De Anza show, but that never happened with my car down now.
Hopefully next week-end everything will be back as it was.
