I have a 70 Cuda 383 with an automatic.  I realize there are different groups for batteries.  I have looked at different sites and found some conflicting information.  What group and color should my car have?  No, I don't have the broadcast sheet.  Also what is meant by the term group?

that would have either the group 24 yellow cap, or the group 27 red cap. the current batteries are AGM. you can also get from the dealer a group 27 that says mopar on it for way less $$ . in either a 700 or 750 amp also.  # BBO27700AA or BB027750AA

the group 24 battery was STANDARD in a 340/383 'cuda
the group 27 battery was OPTIONAL in a 340/383 'cuda (STANDARD in a 440/HEMI 'cuda)

If memory serves A/C booted you up to a group 27.

37amps! It's amazing little power we had then and how much power we have available  in a new vehicle now. I'm thinking of buying a new ram 3500 before I retire and it comes standard with a 180 amp alt with an option for 2 x 220 amp alts. 440amps! (not sure how they size the wire for that)

I seen that too, I guess if you have to weld something you'd be good. These new vehicles need constant voltage now and they charge up almost instantly after starting. My 75 Road Runner had something like a 100 Amp alternator and we thought that was a big deal.
