So I'm thinking it's time for a distributor upgrade.... Mine is 50 years old and seems to do whatever it wants haha. What do you all recommend? I'm thinking I want to upgrade to electronic. Must be reliable and not break the bank. 1971 318. TIA

Why not send it out to Joes Mopar Distributor Restoration for a rebuild and Petronix conversion. Heres a link to his facebook page.

Basic Mopar electronic conversion kit. Although I think Summit and Jegs offer house versions of this now. Complete kit with  distributor, harness, control box, and wire harness. Not over the top expensive either.

I would talk to Mancini , the Mopar ones are fully adjustable if they are still available ,
definately go electronic , I like the Rev-n-ator box best .
Firecore is another great option .
Stay away from , I don't even want to mention the name , but FBO they are junk

I simply went to my local jobber and bought a rebuilt stock one. Been fine/ trouble free for over 10 years now .  :alan2cents:

Buy one from eBerg. I just bought the big block version and I love it. They also come as a kit with ECU.

The one in Ebergs link has a number on it of DST3890. Rock auto sells for almost 1/2 price if the same piece.

LOL  :))  Sharp eye! I wonder if e-burg does anything to them? In one picture it shows the plastic thrust collar and in the other metal? The Rockauto one looks like a black cap? E-Burg a tan cap?

Ask him, he is usually quick to reply. I can tell you the specs that he gave for the curve on the RB unit were right on.  I'm guessing a metal thrust collar, cap/rotor change and probably an advance spring.

I put one of these HEI units in my 360LA... works great. I upgraded my module and coil to Petronix but the stock as it came parts worked fine.

Well I was considering the one on EBay from Eberg now it says no longer available  :o. Who else carries this kit? I'm in Canada but can buy from the US if I need to

Email him, he'll have more. He's a small, private seller.
