I've seen some cars with both coolant and oil temp gauges. Good idea for racing etc. applications.

Oh well, another useful gauge to install. As soon as I find more money somewhere.

Buy another coolant temp sensor and put it into an oil port. From there you can put a two position switch on the signal wire to monitor oil or water temp.  :stayinlane:

I ran wiring for oil temp to my ECU, I just need to get a sensor for it.

I had an oil cooler on my 455 Buick regal. Never got the oil hot enough. I had to block most of the airflow to the cooler just to get the temp gauge to move. Street cars rarely get the oil too hot. Race cars yes....

I believe they make thermostats for them that will help street cars out. My stock WRX gets about 210° during a hot highway cruise. But it's a turbo engine.

I have a 10 bolt rearend in my Trans Am. Its at its power limit, but warming it up first,
along with the transmission, also prolongs life and keeps things from breaking.
