Drive shaft question?

Many years ago when I put my car together. My car had a 318 / 904 combination now it has a 340/ 727 combination. I did not change the dive shaft because it fit and information was not as easy to come by . Should I get the correct drive shaft ?

The drive shaft from the 318/904 combination would not have fit the 340/727 combination. So you likely already have the correct driveshaft.
I think the difference is about 4", so unless you moved the rear end an equivalent amount to the rear, you would have never got it in there.

Slipyoke 904 and 727 has different amount of splines and will not fit.

  Same issue, Original 318/904 on my 73 Challenger, Bought a new yoke and had 4" removed from my old driveshaft and re-balanced.
