I have a question on my T/A block exhaust heat shield. Do I need to put a gasket between the block and the shield, then a gasket between the shield an the exhaust manifold?      Or does the heat shield act as the gasket itself. Thanks

Don't laugh at my ONE TIME time engine stand .

The heat shield is the gasket adding more gaskets will cause a leak

Another golden teed bit of information that is great to know.
As far as the engine stand goes: If it does the job then there is nothing to laugh at lol

Exactly, the ones I laugh at are the guys who spend hundreds of $$$ building a fancy support that they will use one time.....  I use an old industrial grade furniture dolly that I found at a yard sale.... I've used it 8-9 times in the last 20 years & it's all I need...

I used a set of snowmobile pads , 3 of them with 4 castors on each . must have installed 10+ engines using those , not nessisarily recommended though as they were close to max capacity with a fully built big block & trans on a K frame
