K frame ID

I have a "12" stamped on the button on my K. Is this enough info to ID it? Just curious what it will fit. Thanks,

Is a 440 K Frame different than the 318, 340 and 383? I have read it was the same for a v8 except hemi.

1970 E-Bodies with Skids can have these numbers.  But some of them will not have the skid plate if they were used with 318, 340 or 383's.  Just depends on what it was used for.  14 (Hemi), 76 (Hemi), 74 (440), 77 (440).  There's also a date code stamped in the front of the K-Frame.  It's small and a four digit number.  For example, 3119 would be 311th day of 1969.

Thanks Cody!! I have a 1970 project car with a 318 engine code, but has a k frame with the skid plate. I will have to check it out.

I thought 12 was for 318, 340 and 383's?  Not Hemi's, right?

You might as well add another number 12 (Hemi) to the list Cody.
