Still battling the a833 swap. Needs help here

Can someone post pics of the clutch linkage to the clutch pedal and the brake pedal?

I'd also like to know if I need to drill or make any holes for the linkage to pass through to the bell housing ?

Any pics of the linkage would really help

Thanks all

I can help you out in a few hours when I get home. I just took my dash off awhile ago, so I have full access to my clutch and brake pedals.

Perfect !! Thank you

I just can't make it outs in my head lolz. I have the children manual but it's so sloppy and small, I can't make it out. The guy who sold me the trans sent this but even that's terrible

Thanks a lot

Your car will have all the holes you need. An automatic has an oval plug in the firewall where the clutch rod boot goes. :alan2cents:

Alright cool.

Thanks for the answer!

Last question of the day. What would you recommend to do with the removed parts ? Sell or just keep ? I doubt I'll go back to auto but I've seen a few threads of people wanting to trade a c manual car for an auto so ...? That got me thinking

I am not sure what the z bar is.  But I did take some pictures of where the clutch linkage goes.  And I took like a minute long video of the clutch and brake assembly if you want I can email it to you if you DM you email if you don't want to post it on this forum.  The red arrow is where the clutch linkage goes through the firewall.

One thing to know"

Once your entire pedal assembly is bolted onto the firewall you'll still need to put the over center spring on.

The best way to do this safely is so stretch it open with a small floor jack.
While it's sprung open; stick thick washers in between the coils so the spring gets longer.

When you unload the spring, the washers all fall out. It's on!

Thanks man you really are a life saver.

The z bar is the part that attaches to the frame behind the firewall. IYa next to the bell housing on the drive side.

I already have the spring on. I just need to attach the linkage to it, cut the tunnel and then hopefully finally drop the trans and motor in together proudly breaking the record for longer a833 install in history lolz

Also where do the ball studs go ?

According to what I have it says the side of the bellhousing  but when I try the treads don't work and it says 6 cyl models

Anyone know where to on the 8 cyl ?

Also the red circles items

Dakota

The ball stud on the left side of your picture goes into a bracket that is mounted (welded) onto the top of the driver side frame rail (under the master cylinder).   If you're doing a conversion from an automatic, that bracket will need to be added.   Here's one source of the bracket:

If the ball stud from the right side of your picture isn't fitting into the bellhousing as shown in the drawing you included in your first post, please post some additional pictures of what you're dealing with and maybe some better guidance can be provided by one of the wizards here.

Note:  I'm used to using the term "Z bar" too.   In the Service Manual and on some part supplier websites, that piece is also referred to as a "torque shaft".
