I had a Centerforce and it held up extremely well to 20+ years of street and strip abuse but it`s finally time to replace it, should I stick with Centerforce or try a McLeod or some other brand? I do want to stick with the diaphragm type and the McLeod is cheaper but is it as good, and which part number?

Well my experience with a Centerforce lasted a weekend & if you shift hard & high rpm the pressure plate will invert & stay there so you need a rev limiter .
I toss them in the trash , just junk  :Thud:
My favorite is the McLeod Borg & Beck / long series , proper pedal feel & & will always return

I have to agree with CP. I have bent a few of those Diaphraghm setups, I tried one centreforce and it didn't work for me.

I do not like the diaphragm style at all

But your answer sounds obvious....You've had Centerforce for 20 years, why switch now ? to save a few bucks ? :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I really like my centreforce diaphragm clutch. It's been there over a decade so far and never failed me. Maybe I don't treat it as rough as CP or runcharger?
Those guys are probably just hard on their cars...lol

Or maybe we build more powerful engines
After the first shift where the clutch pedal stays on the floor it is time for the trash , better have the rev limiter too or the engine may be trash also

I probably don`t have near the HP as some others, it`s just a basic 340 running low 13`s on street tires but I beat the snot of it powershifting at 7000 rpm, 100`s of drag strip passes and generally beating on it on the street and never an issue till it finally gave up. I figured McLeod was always a good name but not sure how there diaphragm set up compared to Centerforce?

I have a Mcleod and I am very happy with it. Stock 340, I just drive it. :)

I do drive my stuff as Mopar intended. I had a Corvette once and drove it like a Mopar. It couldn't take the abuse. That's why I liked them back in the day. A Mopar might have a rattle in the door but the power train won't let you down.

:iagree: Totally  Mopars were always better engineered , drove them hard too , broke lots of Mopar parts hate to think how many parts the Gms would have eaten up by comparison !!

I think the BB long has been discontinued.  I use that and can't find another. If anyone knows differently, please let us know.

The street twins are good too , I have a B&B Long twin in my car right now
too bad they discontinued it , best design & the only company making it . I Guess I couldn't sell enough to continue building them  :Thud:
