Can the pilot bushing be installed after the crank is installed in the block?  I don't know how hard it is to drive in.  I wouldn't want to damage the thrust bearing.
Thanks

The easy way is to use a socket that's nearly the same diameter as the bushing and just use it with a hammer to tap the bushing in. Unless you get carried totally away, you're not likely to damage the bushing.

The roller one at Jeep dealer is easier and better IMO

Put the barring in a freezer for a day or so prior to installing it.  :alan2cents:

What ever you do make sure the bushing is the correct size for the hole in your crank. Make sure there are no nicks or burrs in the hole before you try to force it in. You never want to "pound " anything anywhere. If it belongs there, it will fit just right.

Strong advice, and make sure it fits on the shaft of your transmission first. :alan2cents:

I use the newer roller style, bonus is it fits even if crank is not drilled.
