Just curious you guys with real experience what retro roller lifter kit brand you'd recommend, and what brand you'd avoid? Or are they all from the same parent company now a days. Application is in a 72 LA 318 block, thank you !

Which engine
the LA series engines used factory roller lifters between 87-92 & you can just use a set of those .
for street applications it is better to have a small oiling pin hole feeding oil to the roller directly otherwise the oiling is only splash fed from the crankshaft .

It's going in a 1972 LA 318 engine. I was under the impression I could not use the later date factory roller lifters in a early (1972) model 318 LA.

True you need the later 318 roller block from 87-92 to use those , but that might be a good option

MRM, I went with the Lunati retro roller kit.  Their price is pretty good and you can get a complete kit from summit.  The engine is still in the building stages so I don't have any info on how well it works or not.  Mine is in a 71 318
