Anyone hear of Bruce Toth, has aluminum heads?   https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005463167895&lst=1547682629%3A100005463167895%3A1511730239&sk=photos
I'm fixing to send him my Eddy heads and intake for a full port job. He seams to do some really nice work. My plans were to build a 416 for my Cuda. But I have decided to see how much I can squeeze out of a stock stroke 340 first. I'm curious. The motor is doing 351 hp at the rear wheels now with stock Eddy heads. Be interesting to see what the port work does for it. He says 40-60 hp or maybe more.   We will find out.

The appeal of the 340 is it's love of high revs for me anyway.

And has been said before you can have a 408 with a much lighter bob weight than a 340 that will also rev freely... Don't waste time or money on a cast crank stroker  kit if your going to race it.. Forged crank is an extra $200 well spent...
