I'll always regret not buying this car. I was looking for an original Hemi Car to pull the swapped Hemi out of my Challenger and into a real car. This was for sale by "a guy" in Olympia in the mid 80's, a real TX9 Hemi 69.

How we rolled in the late 70's and early 80's. Gary Zap made a see through hood to show off the Hemi in his 71 Runner and a Six Bbl Cuda at a Vancouver indoor car show probably around 82 or so.

A friend of mine picked up this car in Vancouver B.C. in 78 or so. He lived in a small town (Fort St. James B.C.) so it was pretty cool that the car lived there for awhile. It is a matching #'s V-code, 4 speed, FJ5 car that was painted black lacquer (to cover up that unsightly loud green back then). This car still is preserved in this form today although it changed ownership a few times. It is one of those cars that is just as cool in this form as it would be in as delivered form.
This car was bought from Northern B.C. a year or two later and when the new owner drove it the 500 miles back to the Vancouver area he stopped at the race track in Ashcroft and ran it. Memory is foggy but I'm pretty sure it ran a 12.8-13.0 in totally stock form except for headers.

Brad: It sure is. I spoke with Gary about it and it took a few tries and wrecking at least 1 steel hood to make it.

Original Hemi Cuda circa 1980. Guy was really decent, not sure what his name was. He brought the car up from Vancouver to race when our track opened in 1980. I later seen him on the street with it with mufflers (sorta) and street tires. Car is most likely restored now but I have lost track of it.

I don't have a picture but I had the chance to buy a real V code 70 Chall , it was also F8 & was painted black & looked friggin awesome , the deal breaker was the 727 tq flight trans , I know the car was around Edmonton in the early 80s
