72 Challenger

I am starting this topic because I recently bought a 1970 Plymouth Duster after selling my 1972 Challenger. I wanted a change. I recently picked up a fully restored Duster in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is currently scheduled to be shipped to me later this month. In another topic @6bblgt said he had some production numbers for 1970 Dusters and I am obviously interested in seeing what he has!

But first, mine is:

I will for sure post up some pictures. It has the original engine but it's a 416 stroker now. Also a 3.55 sure grip car. This bad girl should fly.

the 1970 340 Duster numbers I have are based on 21,799 shipped to US destinations
87.8% of the 24,817 total production (total built to Canada spec. < 3,018)

15.6% - 3-speed (~3,401)
33.9% - 4-speed (~7,390)
50.5% - automatic (~11,008)

8.7% - FC7 "in-violet metallic" (~1,897) - tied for 3rd most popular (w/FE5 "rallye red") behind #1 EB5 "blue fire metallic" & #2 FY1 "lemon twist"

I'll get to more of it later .....

I have a soft spot for those A bodies.
Friend with 74 Dart Sport 360 sure grip is what cemented my Mopar love.

I was looking at the triple black folding roof car for sale in Macon Georgia but with exchange to CAD it was too much. There was also some questions about it's authenticity so I decided for that kind of cash I rather walk away. Super cool option. Have you got a picture of your old one?

It does not have a build sheet unfortunately. The guy who I bought it from has owned the car 43 years and never kept it. It really has no cool options as it was bought to be raced. It does have original rallies. That is likely the only option beyond those listed on the fender tag.

Of course I am sticking around! I may not have an e-body but I have not come across a better car forum. When you think about it most of the driveline of my Duster is the same info as an e-body. Plus there are many mopar savvy people on here! I will still rock my e-bodies.com shirt at car shows.

And yes the hood is going back to stock. You can see the hood in the background that comes with the car.
