Hello all, I'm installing a vintage air A/C kit in my Javelin and was wondering if it mattered were the dryer, compressor etc, was mounted height wise in relation to the Evaporator Core ? I ask as I'm trying to hide it as much as possible and just wondered if it mattered? Running lines behind inner fender, dryer down low around front bumper brackets etc...  I suspect it doesn't matter but thought I'd ask....

Thanks!

I've never heard of that being an issue. :dunno:

One Bit of advice though, and a big lesson learned for my mechanic and myself with the black Challenger I just finished...

If you're running electric fans instead of  fan on the motor...you MUST have at least one fan engage while the AC is on, otherwise the AC system will overheat. No where in the Vintage Air instructions does it mention this...We had to buy and install a trinary switch on the dryer so that the AC would switch on the fans reguardless of engine temp, as well as the engine computer controlling the fans based on engine temp.. :alan2cents:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

A few electric fan controllers will come on with the AC.  I have one on my '65 Mustang. A Dakota Digital.

I think there's some flexibility on dryer location.  The liquid refrigerant coming out of the condenser is going to be about 150-200 psi which is more than enough to overcome minor height differences in a "liquid full" connection between the condenser, dryer and expansion valve.

My '70 Challenger has the dryer located on the passenger side (PS) immediately next to the condenser.   The more common position that I've seen for this model year is on the engine side of the PS wheel well, so it doesn't have to be close.

Also take advantage of the great tech support that Vintage Air has available and also Classic Auto Air has great support too!
