Auction madness, MCG sign sale at Mecum

Someone paid $2950 for a $60 MCG sign!  :o  I bought the smaller version from the Mopar Collectors Guide booth at a show last summer.  I'll sell it at a future Mecum auction for $1500!  :bigthumb:

I don't see the large size listed anymore.  Here's the one I bought.

Wouldn't it be nice to be one of those people that have so much money they have to throw it away like candy? Where can I stand to catch some?  :))

I've heard some of the vintage gas station type signs you see sell at Mecum are repros.
That's supposed to be the case for many you see on eBay too.  The fact that enthusiasts will throw a lot of money at these items without confirming they are real is alarming.
That someone would spend $3000 on a sign that a magazine has recently sold by the thousands for $60 is just as crazy.
