first pic looked "bronze" on my monitor, but the jambs look "red" = R6 (ER6)

looks like - upgraded to 318 & all vinyl interior (H2T)
plus A/C (is that clear glass??), power steering & a radio

Glass appears tinted and has the "Chrysler [something] Air Conditioning" decal on the right rear window. Still has the AM radio in it, i'll need to see why the buttons on the HVAC controls don't work. Hopefully just a cable or something needs replaced, I'm not familiar with how they are hooked up back there.

Looks like I have 10" front brakes. I'll get wheel cylinders and a master headed this way

Being from New York you would expect that.... Mike is in Texas, rust is less of an issue.... Still not a bad idea but often in good climates original brake lines are fine....

This looks to be the case, the lines look to be in excellent condition. I haven't found any rot on the car worth mentioning.

They still sometimes rust from the inside but when you flush the old fluid you'll get a pretty good indication by what comes out of the lines...

Agreed! condensation from within is what you guys have to worry about as far as loosing A brake line.

The short list is to overhaul the brake hydraulics, new gas tank [rusted internally], shift shaft seal and get the carburetor back together.

Should be able to try to fire it next week! I have a personal goal of getting paint on it by the end of the year, at least a driver quality job. We'll see if I can hold that pace.

I thought fram filters were a no no for the old la motors. Iirc they cause low oil pressure issues.

I know the nuclear orange ones are bad, that's the least of my worries at the moment!

OH WOW...I just was going through your pics and realized an issue I have! Any idea what oil filter relocation kit that is?   I really need one like it for my 340....my oil filter is touching the headers!!!  Nice stable of cars by the way!

I was fairly methodical in my attempt to get the car running, with the tools that were left under the hood and a few things in disarray it was apparent someone couldn't get it running and wanted to.

  • I pulled and inspected all of the plugs, they looked in decent shape but had seen a lot of fuel. WD-40'd the cylinders to help give them something to ride on.
  • I pulled the distributor and went ahead and primed the motor,  I don't believe it's ran since ~2003. It built great oil pressure off of my drill and I rolled it around.
  • I timed the distributor so that I could cross that issue off of my list (someone had recently installed electronic ignition).
  • New plugs, new wires
  • Tore the carb apart and cleaned it well, it was very gunked up and one metering rod had been bent completely over....oops

With that behind me I cleaned the battery terminals and jumped the relay, it runs!

...however the block doesn't hold water. I have at least three very leaky freeze plugs that'll have to tend to. Lucky me, I've never done those in the car before.
