Yeup - I certainly understand that ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  :)  The bummer was a few years ago when I drove from Ohio to North Carolina to buy a Baracuda and it turned out NOT to be what I wanted - that kinda stung from both a cost and time perspective.  When I found my '56 Coronet in Connecticut, I debated how to avoid the risk.  My wife actually suggested checking on this forum for anyone in the area and I ended up finding a guy less than 10 minutes away!  It worked out perfectly.  So when this car came up, I decided I would try that route again, and it looks like it's going to work - because EBO is the best friggin' car forum on the entire interwebs!

Cool story and a great guy helped you out! There truly is no greater group than this one. But the whole story brings up a memory I have of about 20 years ago with a few coworkers. I work for a very large company that spans two states. I hate to say the C word in this group, LOL but this guy was going to purchase a Chevy nova and asked a very knowledgeable nova coworker to go look at it for him. He sure did! He bought it and brought it out from under him. There went that work relationship.

A HUGE thank you and "good guy alert" for @Rich G. of New Jersey who went and looked at this 'Cuda for me yesterday morning.

Unfortunately, his report was what I feared - they made the outside of this car look good enough for the screen but not good enough for the collector.  Body gaps and fitment issues were a-plenty, and the paint was chipping off and bubbled up in many areas.  Motor ran great, but corners were clearly cut in the assembly of the car.  Too bad - I was just starting to get my hopes up.

So the search continues!!

Thanks, Rich - anything I can do for ya, you lemme know!!

That's too bad . . Maybe the next one!  And maybe it will be blue .  .  .
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

That's why we always look at them. This one is out of your mind and now you can focus on finding a good one.

Glad I could help out. Never mind looking at a Cuda. Nothing worse then buying something from a picture and regretting it when it arrives and it's not what you were expecting. Happy hunting!
