Classic blue oval guests in my garage

My brother in law is doing some work inside his garage so he needed a place to store a couple of his cars so I was glad to offer a couple spots.
He brought over one of my favorite classic Ford time capsule musclecars

1966 Ford Fairlane GT 390.

47k original miles
original paint, engine/drivetrain and just about everything else.
The car was bought new locally and stored for many many years.
Lots of documentation including original dealership bill of sale and title.

It's a fun car to drive with a peppy, quick revving 390 big block, of course 4 speeds are always fun.

The other car is a 2000 mile 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

Nice car !! One of the most fun cars I've owned was a 69 Cyclone... 390 4spd.. That car was no joke and would come out of the hole in a shot...My buddy still has his 66 fairlane and I get a ride every so often.. I love the sound of the old fords..

66 Fairlane 500 XL was my first muscle car.  I wanted a Cuda or Challenger, but I was racing motorcycles at that time and needed a vehicle that could tow my bike, and haul my gear in a large trunk.  It was great on the highway.  Mine was the same vintage burgundy color with black interior.  390 4bbl, top loader 4spd, manual drums, and a peg leg in the back.  I had the 427 fiberglass hood for the cool factor.  It had some torque, but I wouldn't consider it fast.  It had spooky handling on the backroads.  I had to guess what way it would pull when I touched the brakes.  I had some fun times in that car while I was in my early 20s.  It wasn't fun to drive home after I crashed my race bike and broke my shoulder.  Manual steering and the 4spd was difficult to operate with my left arm.  My GF at the time couldn't drive stick.  I wonder why I took her with me to the races?  When I was done racing, I sold it to get my first E-body and haven't looked back in 25 years.  The Ebody is a way nicer and way cooler car.

Ya know, I'm always surprised that despite how many Fairlanes and Torinos were made over all the years, how few you ever see out and about.

I like the look of those cars. Not so crazy about the front end and steering setups on those and Mustangs though.
