Concrete floor treatment

On old garage floors or floors with stuff on them you really have to power wash them, etch them, power wash them and etch them again.  dirty floors are the toughest to make not peel.  You can do it though.  As with most things, prep prep prep.

Murray, if you do it make sure you wash those tire marks really good.  That will impregnate the crete with rubber and make it peel right there.  However after you paint it, your new marks will make really good looking garage art !

Which sherwin product do you suggest?
Armorseal 1K? HS? 1000HS? Rexthane 1? Tread- plex? 650 sl/r? Or Armorseal 33?

They seem to have so many choices!!

I used the home depot kits, Its been on there about 12 years and overall it held up pretty good considering I rolled a steel wheel rotisserie and assembly table all over it. I also did not spend a lot of time prepping the floor which I should have. just a couple of points to consider 1- the speckles are nice but if you drop a screw or small bolt it basically disappears lol and 2- I like having my16' door open in the summer and clear coat will yellow from the sun, but overall I think it held up.

Last one I used was 1000HS.  But that is where the tech comes in.  Again, ask for the manager.  Don't talk to the regular guys.  Get the most experienced person there and explain exactly what your doing.  They will help with which product is best for your application. 
  Now, being a general contractor I tend to like my own ideas.  I've purchased certain ones and come to find out that I should have listened to the guy at the store.  I've created way better products with their suggestions. 

  Oh, if you use the specs, try to find like an extra ten pounds of specs.  Spread an inch over the entire floor.  That's the only real way to get a consistent speckled floor.  I had a company from Denver come do one for me that I didn't have time for.  They covered the floor with 12" of specs.  I was blown away by how much they threw away.
