I haven't said much about my front and rear window saga other than the AMD glass not fitting well and me installing OER glass a few weeks ago on my own, but I wanted to caution anybody looking to have glass installed.

I paid Brian H. the owner of Glass Guy Chicago a $600 deposit back on 9/2/22 to supply and install front and rear glass for me.  He said it'd arrive in a few weeks and he'd be back out to install it.  That ended up turning into 6 months of him telling me he'd be out in the next week and then blowing me off....  I finally demanded a refund in January and he refused and said he'd be back out next week...  Twice.  Mind you, despite his excuses and no explanation for simply blowing me off a dozen times he's been all over the place doing jobs and posting them on his FB business page.  He was just at the World of Wheels too.

He obviously takes care of the big vendors to make sure he gets the P&R and glamour, but has no issue stealing from the little guys either.  He travels across the Midwest, and I would strongly advise to stay away from this clown or at least not give him a penny up front.

I'm in the process of taking him to small claims court, which should be cut and dry, but it just really sucks having to go through all these steps and I don't want anyone else to have to deal with that headache either.  I'll never understand how people can take someone else's money and then act like they are entitled to it when they did nothing to earn it.

I'd strongly encourage you to use someone else or do it yourself like I ended up having to do; it's not that hard at all.  Seriously, it was my first time and I had both sections in and sealed in less than 2 hours.

I'm in the Chicago area but never heard of him.
I'll steer clear if I ever need glass (no pun intended).
His Yelp reviews are good, maybe leave a bad one to get the word out.

Yeah, it's ridiculous...  It's crap like this that makes me do everything on my own to begin with.

That's a good idea; may as well warn others so they can avoid what I'm dealing with.

Well sounds like he obviously lives quite close to you.
You mention several times that he states "he'd be out in the next week ".
I'd make a phone call again and tell him you and several buddies will be in the area 'in the next week' and plan
on stopping and pay him a visit regarding the glass..
I'd leave it at that and let him sweat. :steamingmad:

I was lucky for my 74 Challenger.    I was able to find a used rear glass for only $100.   Then Southern Glass Company ordered a new windshield that came in in three days, and i drove my car 4 miles with no windshield to them with the rear glass in it and they installed it and the new one for a total of only $250...   So in total i spent only $350.   No issues at all...
