Fitech has came out with version 2 of their fuel commander pump tank setup. I could not find any info on the difference with version 1. According to Fitech, the system needs a return pipe back to the main tank and the tank needs to be vented. It make sense to me. The pump is also PWM driven for variable speed operation. I will be going with that down the line. I ran a return line already and will be connecting to the return at the fuel level sender

Version 2 still has problems....  For what they charge a few bucks more & you have a new Tanks inc tank & pump.... Why take a chance....

How does this E body fuel tank with internal pump compare to Tanks Inc. or Holley's?

Here's some pics I took of the inside of a Challenger Tanks Inc EFI tank
First is of the baffle and tub, view is from fill tube hole.
Second is of the pump/pickup and tub
Third is top view of pump/pickup in the tub, I've positioned the sock differently than pictured - it is now oriented front/back

This is the tub inside a Challenger Spectra tank (not my pic , Devil on Moparts)
I do not know if the Spectra tank has a baffle.

Just a guess by I'm thinking the Holley tank & the Spectra tank are the same thing..... Those angled walls will allow the fuel to escape when accelerating/turning/braking...

As the post above shows the Tanks Inc tank has a baffled chamber with straight up & down was within the tank so it doesn't lose prime/fuel when accelerating, cornering or braking....

I could not find any review on version 2. What sort of problem do they have now? I am looking at this because I have a brand new SS tank, return fuel line already installed. It will also be a pain to insert the filler tube into the new tank if I go with the fuel injection tank setup.. Since version 2 actually returns fuel back to the main tank, it should keep the pump cool and eliminate the fuel boiling problem with version 1. However, it is still located inside the engine compartment and subject to the higher temperature of the engine bay though. I got a brand new quickfuel carb now and the Fitech will be down the line, likely next year. Just looking ahead.

From what I've read version two they eliminated the check valve & added a filter screen... So if they now have added a true return line then they copied what guys who bought earlier units have been doing... Eliminate the float & needle/seat plus the filter/check valve and go with a full return so the fuel is constantly circulating.... If thats what they've done then it should be okay... And in reality it would be version three....Funny they had to let the guys in the field fix their problem.. And so much for the system not needing a return line....

If you insist on running a front mounted surge tank I've been told the Robbmc system is much better than the FITECH. :notsure:

Yes: I believe the Fitech is the last choice.
