My beloved Cooper just died this morning. Just finished burying him  :crying:
Bittersweet as we had booked a vet to come tomorrow and put him down. I prayed for a long time that he would go naturally and not have to endure the guilt of "putting him down"  We had him out on the deck enjoying the sunshine and I was rubbing his ears which he always loved and he simply fell over and died almost in my arms. I was feeling a little guilty for not going to Church this morning but as the wife said " I'm so glad we didn't go and stayed here with Cooper as he would have died alone"  Gotta count your blessings no matter how small right.
He was over 17 years old which is amazing for a little dog. For that I'm very grateful . My sons all grown up and "men" now this was there childhood dog, been thru so much together, pretty much a lifetime for them. Thousands of great memories ...... gonna be a tough go for awhile for our family.
Maybe say a prayer for us if you think of it.
2020 what a year huh....

Very sorry to hear that Brad...but it sounds like you had the best possible outcome under the circumstances...I still feel guilty about putting our old cat down last December :andyangel:

Thanks,
Awww sorry for your loss, I think all pet owners but especially dog owners " get it" when we loose them. Your picture of Igor made me smile! Tough not to love a face like that! 11 years if I understand it correctly,  for English Bulldogs is a pretty long life? Love that breed , Face expressions make me laugh. Dogs are so unconditional and loyal as compared to other pets I find. I suspect that is their "greater purpose" to teach us to love without conditions....
Cooper was 17 almost 18 which is pretty amazing/blessed not many get the pleasure of such a long life for any breed . Today was tough, for the last 17 plus years I have never finished a bowl of cereal or consumed an entire order of french fries  or a steak  etc.... I always shared with him. As soon as he smelt fries it always made me laugh, no way was he going to be denied,  it was one of his favorite foods. Actually when I think about it I doubt I have even eaten half and order of fries when he was present. LOL When the wife was cooking a roast beef dinner, the whole day the happy look on his face was priceless as he knew what was for his dinner too. We did spoil him.... and with no regrets either.  I have many happy amazing memories with Cooper for that I am truly grateful.

Bulldogs are hilarious and unreal protectors of children.
