While sorry to hear about your dad's health issues, I was also heartened to hear of his and your love of bonding in the garage! My late father and grand and great grand fathers were all mechanics and the garage was for us, also a place where we shared love and knowledge and I hope that you and your dad are able to continue that for many more years because, as you said, you never know when there'll be no more days like that. Give him a hug and tell him that you love him if you haven't already done that today. God Bless.

All the members here are truly amazing and selfless in their knowledge and willingness to help.  Prayers are will you and your dad, cherish these moments and the memories of the past.
