Thats awesome.  I wonder which state allows spear hunting bears.

I have a spear hunting Boar trip planned in a month or so.  Ground to ground stalking with spear.  No back up no gun.  I can't wait !!!

I didn't mention I am an avid bow hunter.

Took me 7 years to get me a mountain lion.  Spot and stalk with no dogs no guys no friends on public land.

She almost ate me.  I drank her blood while she was alive.  I ate every scrap of meat from her.  By far the best meat I have ever butchered and eaten. 

And by far the most intense thing that has ever happened to me.

Your crazy josh,my buddy hunts boars with a rifle and some of the video iv'e seen of him and his buddies on hunts with the boar vharging and trying to gore them,NO WAY....

In colorado during the gold rush the miners ate all of the rocky mountain big horn sheep. 
The state has now spent multiple millions to bring a population back through the Montana herd.
The mountain lions specifically target the young lambs. 
If there is not an effort to cull some of the cats in the state we will loose the entire population of sheep again. 
This is called wildlife management.

This year specifically there has been a huge drop in the deer population due to the numbers of mountain lions.  So there has been an extended lion season to cull more of the cats.
As odd as it may seem, we have to kill some animals so that the populations of other animals will survive. 

Now if all the humans go away we can just let the animals go back to their natural habitat and population.  but I don't see humans going away any time soon. So it's important that we manage them or we will loose all of the animals.  Just like the eastern plains elk that is now extinct.  America did not have a management system back in the beginning and we pushed several species to extinction.

Other countries could benefit greatly from this type of management, specifically China.  They are eating their wildlife to extinction.

She did see me.  At the end.  She was coming for me.  I took her as she came to kill me.   

I believe in fair chase hunting.

You have some serious skill and courage my friend.  They say the majority of the time you will not see or hear a mountain until it is on top of you.  So for you to turn the tables on this one is very impressive.  And no doubt she would have drank your blood while you were still alive, and ate every scrap of you too.

Mine is Animated Light Shows for Halloween and Christmas (Lights dance to the music).
Halloween isn't near as big a display and just runs one night.
Christmas starts Thanksgiving evening thru New Years Eve, while setting it up starts the day after Halloween and all of November.
Over 200 channels and the big 33' (mega) tree is over 20,000 LED lights by itself.

It's not the scariest haunt but it's fun to set up and the kids and parents love it. 
I think I had the music up loud enough to make the whole block scary.  :smilielol:

I've got too many hobbies myself, I could spend 24/7 with my hobbies and still not have enough time for all of them, that is if I didn't have that darn day job I have to go to 5 days a week.
Car related is model cars, I have been building models since I was 8 or 9 years old.  I haven't gotten ambitious enough to start another in recent years but I have a bunch of kits waiting in the basement for someday (gonna build it someday).  And I have a number of diecast cars and since I work for a truck manufacturer, some trucks.  Fortunately the type of truck I engineer there aren't too many models of, so I've got a few as opposed to a few hundred!
I've been very much into anything aviation since my youth too.  I grew up near a naval air station and am fascinated by military aircraft past and present.  I didn't have the eyesight to get to fly military planes, but did start flying after I got out of college and never looked back.  Flown thousands of hours, have my ATP and multiple instructor ratings, I've worked part time as a flight instructor for over 20 years now.  I have a big collection of pictures I took at the air base in my home town and at air shows. I need to scan them someday and put them in my Flickr account.
I have a small gun collection and like to do some target shooting when I get a chance.  My late father was a noted gun collector, historian, and editor and I spent my youth going to gun shows with him.  When he passed I talked my mom into keeping a "representative collection" with a few examples of ones he was interested in, along with some that brought back some memories for me. When she was cleaning up the house last year to sell it so she could move to assisted living, I bought a big safe, and when I told her I had managed to get it into place in my house, she said, good, now you can get YOUR guns out of the house!  Fine with me, I guess they are mine now.
Sometimes I feel I am not worthy, some are hemi cuda or V code quality examples. They give me a connection to my late father though, bring back memories.
I'd rather shoot than collect though.  A buddy of mine joined a outdoor gun club and I am happy to have a place to shoot rifles when he invites me out to join him and his wife for a couple hours of poking holes in targets.
I also homebrew beer in the winter months when there isn't much else to do. And enjoy growing a vegetable garden in the summer.
Also love to fish but for one reason or another haven't had a chance to fish for the last year or two.
Never married so I do have the luxury of playing with a lot of toys with no one questioning my priorities!
