That is the way to do it on a steep pitch roof for sure. First time I drove up to Mt. Charleston in Vegas, summer time 100+ degrees, there was a snow blower sitting on a flat roof of the school. After finding out how much snow they get in the winter, it was obvious why it is parked up there full time.
