RUNCHARGER

Not a fan of EV's. I haven't investigated these new Chargers, however they are popping up on dealers lots and from an appearance standpoint I like the look of them. They are not a 68 Charger but they aren't a bad looking car. I won't be buying one whether it's gas, electric or hydrogen powered however.

This is where people need to inform themselves about tariffs. Almost everything you hear in the news is outright wrong or without enough information as to where the numbers comes from or how they are deriving it to be informative. Don't believe everything you hear on CNN, FOX, CBC. They all have been paid to present any subject with a certain slant. So corroborate from sources around the globe.

My tire guy told me yesterday that 14's and 15's will be unavailable for purchase within 5 years.

They still make tire sizes for Model A`s and other old cars so I think they will be still be available but probably only thru specialty companies like Coker.

I just don't understand why they waited until now to finally re-release a 2-door model of the Charger, one that is arguably the best looking one to come out since 1970.  :drunk:

Ya! This! I was never a fan of the four door Charger. Like it was fine as far as a four door sedan goes...but, imo, real chargers were two door machines.

When the new Charger came out the bean counters didn`t see a two door selling very well so didn`t want o invest in it, of course they then made the new Challenger which proved them wrong. I had an `06 V6 version and really liked it but would have liked it more if it was a two door.

I would change the wheels and take off the General Lee numbers.

I was always partial to this conversion. it's a real one, I got to see it once at a show in Golden/CO and it is drop dead gorgeous

Now that's what the initial 'new' Charger release should have been.

Well, I saw my first EV Charger on the road and all I can say is what a total disappointment in person.  Photos and marketing I was withholding judgement, but man, I think they missed the mark by a mile.  The roofline is very high and the windshield looks huge, the front fascia is uninspiring, the back half seems short.  Maybe it was the trim level or the white paint, but it was very boring to me.  I don't understand how these manufacturers can be SO far off when using a legendary moniker - the Challenger and Mustangs (with the exception of the Mach-E - like, why even call it a Mustang?) I think have been pretty spot on and true to the original.

Personally i think its gorgeous !!  Motor Trend magazine did comparison of the new Charger "muscle car" and a 2025 Mustang Dark horse.   Why?  Not sure? The new Charger isn't a pony car...instead it is a powerful grand tourer with great handling and POWER ,  similar to the first gen Charger or the Second Gen Charger.

Stellantis cant sell them however !!  Why not..simple priced too high.  Tesla just announced the new Tesla Y at it stickers for $50,000.   Every Charger Daytona on my local dealers lot bottom Window sticker price is in the mid 60's and up.   To try to get around this Stellantis and dealers are offering huge, huge discounts.  See:  https://www.johnhiesterchryslerdodgejeep.com/new/Dodge/2024-Dodge-Charger-2b86d413ac182c9706aad5b0ff97e33c.htm  $22,900 discount on a 2024 (i thought they were all 2025's) brings the price down to $48,056...   Discounts on 2025;s are in the $8-10K range.

Now, u have to like electric vehicles..   I do ...but their priced too high.

Still at $48,000  i might just take my 66 Charger 383 down there and see if they'll give me $30K for it !!  At the age of 77 i would be set for life and not give a shit about fact that its a 2024.

Biggest flop ever...bigger than Edsel ?  Again i personally love the new electric Charger.   However, its a humongous flop.  With the Canada tariffs and the charger assembled in Canada they simply dont sell.

Barely out 6 months and the assembly line is shut down while the engineer in the good old Hemi.  Dodge/chrysler/stellantis might as well just throw in the towel.   People laugh at the piped in hemi sounds and the Hurricane 6 might be a great engine, but, muscle car enthusiasts want the hemi.   Man they spent a kazillion dollars on the design of this car and its stillborn.

Sigh, i predict that within a year Stellantis will close the door on Chrysler/Dodge permanently.  If it weren't for Ram (and their sales are down so their bringing the hemi back) and Jeep they would totally close their doors.  Ram meanwhile sufferes with only the full sized Ram, no Ranger or Maverick, or Colorado or Tacoma equivalent.

I think their biggest screw up was pushing the EV out way way before they released the hurricane. This is one of the biggest blunders and launches I've ever seen. They completely ignored their customer base and pushed an extremely high-dollar product into a market that really wasn't looking for them. Their customer base can't afford $60,000 plus EVs, by not launching the hurricane at the same time they completely screwed themselves over. On top of that, they still haven't released the hurricane version. Leadership has their heads so far up their ass it's not even funny

Yep, a flop as expected.
Blame it on the tariff's in the first paragraph.  :))  :))  :))  :))

The majority of people don't want EV's.
That was evident when the government had to give our tax money to the EV companies to make them "appear" viable.
Might as well try some socialism huh?  Didn't work, as expected. Perhaps over time the ev's will gain a strong hold but our infrastructure isn't stable enough to deal with ev's.
Hey, wasn't the build back better socialist program supposed to put charger stations across America, like 500,000 of them.  Didn't we get something like 3?  5.7 Billion dollars allocated of our tax funds in the infrastructure and jobs bill that were stolen and did not produce anything.  How can ev's exist with that kind of theft happening?
Elon did some good hustling people to give him properties across the states that he installed ev charging stations on.  I know of several.  He at least was working on a solution but in the end, he just ended up with a ton of little properties in every state.
Windmills and solar farms are not the answer for the electricity we need to power these electric beasts.
Of course aside from all of this there is the problem of these things burning and combusting.  This is happening in Alaska right now, still burning.
PCTC fire, (Pure Car & Truck Carrier)
Morning Midas On Fire and Abandoned off the Coast of Alaska 3000 cars on board, 800 are EVs.
Here's a diagram layout of what a 6,000 car capacity PCTC is.

Of course, this is all my opinion and I could be wrong.  Socialism, subsidies and tax fraud could work if just tweaked a little bit.

Ram deserves to die. Stelantis, whatever it is that is not dodge/chrysler.
Funny they are coming to Chryslers at carlisle this year, 50 years late.  They aren't even chrysler any longer.  Try as they may, I don't think it will help their downfall.
