The EV market is just not there yet - they are extremely expensive and the range just doesn't make sense for most people.  Don't forget Tesla is really all smoke and mirrors - Tesla's auto business is not truly profitable once you strip out all governmental supports, including both regulatory credits and consumer subsidies/tax incentives.

That being said, I do like the idea of almost zero maintenance - no coolant, no oil, gear reduction transmission almost maintenance free, very few moving parts compared to ICE so almost no life cycle costs other than the battery issue.  For someone like myself that never keeps a car more than 3-5 years, that is a non issue.  Tires wear faster, but by comparison that is much less expensive than maintenance on an ICE vehicle - I just spent $2000 on a service and repair for my kids 2017 Golf R AWD - do the math - especially on higher mileage vehicles when timing belts / chains need to be changed, and the higher probability of mechanical failure just based on the fact that the number of moving parts are so significantly higher, plus all of the emissions hardware - O2 sensors, CATs etc.  I would say electronics complexities are pretty much equal in todays vehicles

I drove a GMC Sierra full EV and loved it - lots of torque, rode great, super functional and both Road and Track and Car and Driver got 400 miles on a charge - downside?  $100K + price tag.  No thanks.

I have seen 1 Charger on the road in Orange County so far, so definitely not popular, especially by comparison to the Challenger which I see EVERYWHERE!  I find the Charger to look a bit vanilla but I am hoping to go by the dealer and take a closer look

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

I saw one drive by the other day and one at a dealership nearby. I don`t think tariffs adding to the cost are the main reason they are not selling, the $65k price tag for an EV "muscle car" that nobody wants probably is. I don`t hate the styling but I don`t love it either.
