Well it looks like I've gone and done it. I have been side tracked from the Barracuda temporarily.

8.75 rear axle with 489 center
Original B5 blue with tan interior
Original AC car

I bought the car to fix up and drive for a little while.

It didn't run and the gentleman I bought it from didn't feel like messing with it. After a few hours I determined it was the coil and electronic ignition controller. She fired right off and ran on gas being poured in the carb.

I then noticed the fuel pump was pumping and the carb bowls (Holley 1850 4bbl) but no fuel was being squirted into the carb throat. So I pulled the carb apart and began the rebuild last night.
I'm thinking I'll be driving it around by the weekend.

Two owners prior owned the car for 26 years. It has an E body tan center console, lol. He installed it to fit around the B&M ratchet shifter.

Wow that's one of the "ugliest" carb bowls I've seen!  :o

If you wanted to do a conversion, I'm pretty sure the 70-72 front header panel/grill/bumper and tail light/bumper will swap right on.  They didn't change the bodies much at all.  Cool project.

Cool deal, I used to have a 72 EV2 duster. Liked that front end. This car came from the factory with the same hood as the 69 barracuda if I am correct. I would love to swap for that front grill :)

Made good progress thus week, folks!

I rebuilt the Holley carb, replaced the ignition and did a full tune up and started detailing the interior.

Night before last I had her running out of a Mountain Dew bottle, hehehe. She purrs and sounds really good.  Before filling the tank, I decided to remove it and inspect. Literally the only cancer I found in this car was on the  fuel tank. I always noticed a fuel smell out back and this confirmed my suspicions.

This car will be happily on the road by the end of the month. Then on to paint and body for the Barracuda!
