Thats my favorite for a nice campfire smoke Islay... You can get it at Costco for $65 and not feel too guilty going through a bottle with your friends / family during a get together.

We have done a couple tastings at work over the last few weeks...

Highland Park Ice 17 was amazing, my boss brought that one in.. He said it was spendy and I'd say it was worth it :)
Glenlivet 18 is a great value and smooth as honey
Johnie Walker Double Black is a respectable for a cheap scotch, Platinum is almost as good as the blue to me
Glenmorangie 18 is buttery smooth,
Dalmore 18 is great but too pricey, got a bottle as a gift and loved it
Dewars Signature is another nice one, but again too much $$$
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or was very different, smooth and sweet
Cardhu 12 is probably the smoothest scotch I recall  for a 12 year old and $45...

I also like Bourbons, tend to sip on them more frequently than Scotch. :) We keep Maker's Mark 46, Bulleit, Blackened and Eagle Rare around the house.. Bulleit would probably be considered my Friday evening go-to for the weekly wind-down...

If I drink whiskey, I forget what happens, like memory black holes.......and not that much to drink.....like three drinks. So I figure I better not drink whiskey.

I've had many (really like crap ton) a whisky (not scotch) and rum too. Im a Maker's Ambassador, they treated me like a king when I stopped in. Altho I like several whisky's (or) whiskey's, Mitcher's American is my current fav. Smooth, a hint of sweet, nice mouth feel, great aroma. The Mitcher's Bourbon & Rye are a little easier to find, but the American stands above imho.   As for RUM ( seeing were talking liquor here). Diplimatico Reserva (dark green bottle). Liquid cocaine! Love this stuff. I might add - both go really well with a good cigar. But that's a whole other discussion. Unfortunately Diplimatico is from Venezuela, so when I see it I buy 3/4 bottles... it could be the last with the political crap going on over there.

40 Creek Whiskey is my go to and reasonably priced,  Jack Daniels and I go way way back,  Buffalo Trace  Burbon is very nice.  Had a bottle of Dalmore given to me and though im not a scotch guy it was pretty easy to love.

Interesting Bigs. I work with a guy that said his favourite rum comes from Venezuela. He too was worried about the goings on down there and recently bought ten bottles in case it becomes unavailable.
