Going to see Cy and all of the original members of The Fixx in concert tonight! No opening act. From Saved By Zero to Beautiful Friction.
Taking Anna, Eric and his girlfriend. Getting our 80's fix on.  :cooldance:
Stoked and can't wait to do something not Mopar related!

Slept in this morning...  :tired:
We all had a great time and the Fixx performed a fantastic show!   :bravo:

Now, back to work... (After the coffee kicks in...)  ;)

Be careful. Don't get caught drinking the Kool-Aid or believing the hype.

Thinking about taking the Viper for a rip. Not sure I want to take it out in all this forest fire smoke though.

Beginning research for a 55 inch tv - all suggestions and opinions welcome - to replace my 5 year old Panasonic 37 inch unit.  My home was broken into this past Thursday morning while I was at work.  Thankfully that was the only item taken.

The only damage was to a rear single pane window in my kitchen which had been pry-barred from the bottom until the clasp gave way - did not even break the glass (!?).  After entering and taking the tv, exit was made through the kitchen door which only had the slide bolt at the bottom in position, and not dead-bolted that morning.  This leads to the back porch which had been converted into a washer and dryer room, and a second wooden porch door which was also pry-barred to the point of bending the dead-bolt.  I left for work at 539am; the window and back doors had been left open by the time I arrived back minutes after 4pm.  I unexpectedly needed to work 20 minutes late and then when I arrived, had to spend a few minutes talking to a neighbor before I even made it to the front door. The front door has both a keyed as well as a non-keyed deadbolt (the non-keyed only operational from inside).  Turning the key, yet still finding the door locked was my first clue that something was not right   :verymad:

The day before (Wednesday) I had scheduled my Plumbing Heating AC Service (Bill Bradley Services - always great work) to replace the four hose bibs around the house; one was leaking and all four were original to the house which was built 1951-1952.  The plumber confirmed that the doors were like that upon arrival around 230pm.  Just a coincidence that events and people crossed my path the way they did.

After contacting the Police and Homeowner's Insurance Agent, I touched base with my neighbors to communicate what happened and see if anyone noticed an unfamiliar vehicle or person(s) - they hadn't.  Yesterday, the young woman who lives across the street from me (and her brother, a roommate) lent me a not-in use 24 inch tv until I put things straight again. I thanked them then and sent a like minded text this morning.  :handshake:

I am baffled by, although certainly not ungrateful for, the fact that absolutely nothing else was disturbed or removed.  I've gone over every iota of the place - and I know all my iotas, lol - and honestly everything was as in place from when I left that morning.  Even my 2yr old computer with a 24 inch screen amazed me the most as it is literally 2 feet away from the window which had been entered through.  Two feet to the other side are my power tools in their respective cases; Makita (1), Porter Cable (2).  Evidently the act was either interrupted, or planned from the beginning as a tv snatch and grab.  It was executed so neatly, that I almost want to thank whomever.  Buuuuuut not quite :verymad:

I've gotten a contractor who will fix things and if the budget allows, I will replace at least the two single pane kitchen windows with newer Energy Star replacement units. Work is scheduled for 14 August which also happens to be the day I'll be going to see Donald Fagen and the Nightflyers (Steely Dan ) downtown.  Funny how timing works on occasion as I had already taken off from work that day and the next.

And in the Mr. Murphy department, I noticed yesterday that Carpenter Ants are vigorously investigating the new wood source created by prying the back door latch area apart. Last night the porch bulb blew as well. I wonder if he had anything to do with the spring failing on the overhead door of the rental unit for my Challenger. "The part is on order and should be here in 2 to 3 weeks."   :deadhorse:

Anyways, things are as well as can be under the circumstances and I still plan to fix my Challenger up someday :)  And get a big screen tv even sooner :) :)

Sorry to about the break-in, not fun.
I bought a new TV a while ago to replace my Sony, and after lots of research I got a 65" Samsung 4K TV.
I'm very happy with it, excellent picture quality.
The smart functions are OK, but since I use a service that requires a separate box, I don't use the built in smart functions that much.
The web browser sucks bigtime though.

Thanks Neil, I am in good shape. Just finished replacing the front porch bulbs, and combined with a nearby street light, ought to brighten things up in front after dark  :)  Take care of the pc situation, we'll talk in good time :bigthumb:

Thanks soundcontrol and yep, Samsung is one manufacturer I've been researching.  I am starting local checking out shelf units and the Big Box stores. Separate box here as well, so those new TVs which do not come with a built-in tuner (such as the Vizio M/P series) will not be an issue either.
