Is having a tool to install these really necessary ?

Not all of us have removed and installed them dozens of times.  I'm sure it gets easier.  We throw money at these cars left and right, why not spend $4 to make sure you get it on the first time without damaging a $100 wiper arm?

I can't tell you how many times I've used that tool. Might not need it to put it on but it sure makes life easier taking it off and for that price why wouldn't you have one!
