oil change interval?

How often do you guys change your oil?  Do you change it based on time since most of us hardly drive these cars.   

I have 1,300 miles and about 20 months on the oil I am running.  VR1 oil and a Wix filter is whats in the engine now.  Doubt this matters, but I wouldn't describe my driving as ultra conservative.  Mainly in town miles.  Thank you and Happy Easter.

That's 65 miles per month on average. I know people that put less on their classic ride though...a particular guy I know has 0 miles on a 69, 428 cobrajet Mach1 Mustang. In about 15, 16 years.

Fine, I will go out and drive my car more.     Its just hard because I have zero trust in others.  I dont feel comfortable leaving my car unattended.

[/quote] I envy all you guys. I've put 0 miles on my car in 36 years, I try to start and run the motor twice yearly just to piss the neighbours off a little. I do change the oil yearly though.

I'm with the herd on the once a year oil change..Right before the winter slumber so the accumulated contaminants and acids are not in there for the next season...
     I'd have far less enjoyment with any of my vehicles if they didn't get some driving time every year..My buddy has Corvettes and stated he likes his old 427 more than his "new" 15 year old Z06.. The 427 gets driven and the Z06 still only has 400 miles on it... How can you truly enjoy the vehicle without driving it ???You can only pull it out,wash it and put it away so many times before it becomes a chore more than enjoyment in my book..

Once per year for me on synthetic. I don't have a storage season as I am able to drive year-round, but I would change it with a quick start-up before Winter if I had to.

I change my before start up every spring.  Actually on my to do list for this week!

If you've been to California lately you can understand being hesitant as to where and when you drive a classic car. The climate is the least of your worries driving there.
