I couldn't find any other guidance on how to fix door panel reflector pins that had been cut off too short, or cut off completely, so I came up with a fix that worked for my 70 SE. The pins appeared to have been cut off on the backside of the door panel so they were not long enough to get a retaining clip attached to them.

First, I cut them off with a Dremel metal cutting disc and ground it down so it was flush with the base of the reflector frame.

Next, I used a 7/64 drill bit to bore a hole for the tap.

I used #6 32 pitch stainless machine screws with a hex head that is 5/8" long, so I used a 6-32 tap to thread the bore.

I put a #6 washer on the screw to spread out the pressure on door panel backing and it snugged up nicely. You don't have to put gorilla strength on this fix and you will strip out the pot metal threads if you did. The shop that did the interior restoration for the prior owner obviously couldn't figure out how to mount these and had tried to glue them in place, which didn't work.  Probably worked just long enough to give the car back to the owner and get it out of their shop!

Word of caution! Make sure you don't drill the bore for the tap to far towards the inner edge. You will punch through the outer edge and hit the lens.

Well done, could you have just epoxied the stud?
No need to tap?
