I'm trying to figure out which gear shift plate I should use on my ta, it's an early built car. My plate has slap stick printed on it with a round hole slide plate. The parts book I have shows there is no slap stick printing.  Thank you for your help!

It is my understanding that the early-est 1970 cars did not have the slap stick printing. T/A's and AAR's were late production. @6bblgt  Would be more qualified to give you a definite answer.  :alan2cents:

Yup... Slap Stick is correct...

the vast majority of 1970 E-bodies have "SLAP STIK"

a small number of early cars have "SHIFT GATE"

:stop: the "blank" ones are from A-bodies and mid-'70s B-bodies/F-bodies/etc.  :foul:

Thanks for the information guys!!  Now I 'll feel more at ease when my car goes to it's first show. It's nice to be able to ask a question and not be called a dumb ass when getting a reply. Keep up the good work.
