Any tips on installing new stainless trim on the brake and gas pedals?  Stainless is pretty hard stuff.  I was just going to try tapping the tabs around the pedals with a rubber hammer.  Is there a better way?  Seems like installing the brake pedal pad onto the brake pedal FIRST and then instaling the trim would work out better for that one.

That's what I did, pads on first, a little bit of tape on the taps and tapped em over with a small hammer.  :bigthumb:

The gas pedal tabs are really small and bent over easily.  The tabs on the brake pedal trim are a lot bigger.  I'm probably overthinking it as usual.

Brake pedal was a PITA.   The tabs are large and don't want to bend.  Not totally happy with how it turned out.

Anyone know where the little rubber pad goes that comes with the new gas pedal hardware?  The original one doesn't have that rubber pad.

I wasn't able to figure that one out either. Researched for an hour or two, couldn't come up with anything.

Best I remember, that little pad goes on the backside of the pedal where the pedal would otherwise directly contact the end of the metal lever for the gas pedal assembly.  I tried and failed to get a decent picture of mine.  Best I can do is tell you it's behind the end of the metal shaft that's in the blurry picture below.  There are two small slots in the backside of the pedal that accept the tabs on the rubber piece.

Yep, that's where it goes.  Some years used it and others didn't.  Of course they include it with all the new pedals even if yours doesn't use it.  ::)  My 68 Dart does not use that rubber piece.  There are no holes in the pedal to insert the little tabs.

The spring that comes with the new pedals is totally junk.  The coiled section of the spring is too small for the included bushings to pass through.  Long story short...I messed with it for almost 2 hours and got really pissed.  Then I just used the original spring and bushings from the original pedal and had it assembled in 2 minutes.  :headbang:
