Headliner removal help

When you remove the headliner, leave the bows in the headliner. 
Just roll the headliner up with the bows still in it.

When it's time to install the new headliner, spread it out next to the old one, and transfer the bows over, one at a time so that you don't mix them up.
This method is easy, and works well.

Remove the interior (rear seats), remove the rear panels, remove all the trim around the inside, remove the visors, remove the dome light, remove the seat belts, remove the coat hooks, and anything else in the way.  I find it easier to work on headliners without the glass in.  If it was me, I would not reuse a headliner.  They are pretty cheap and I like to put a bit of glue in a few spots so it holds really well.  And without the extra material to pull on it would be hard to get it reinstalled right. 

Any advice would be welcome.  I remember someone saying to number the bows.  Do I start in the rear or does it matter.  My headliner looks awesome, hoping to reuse it.

The glass is coming coming out later and I want to remove the interior ASAP.  Will I be okay to remove the headliner with the glass in?

Your 73 should have a Yorkshire headliner in it...NOT the perforated style.  The perforated headliner is a lot cheaper then the Yorkshire.  However, the Yorkshire is much easier to install.  It's almost impossible to get a wrinkle in it.  The choice is yours.  I like the Yorkshire myself.  When I needed one for my Challenger, only two places sold it.  SMS and Dante.(Dante didn't tell me who his supplier was)  Legendary didn't have it.  I think it cost a little over $150 from Dante.  That was about 6 years ago.

That's the perforated style.  It's been replaced at some point already.

There's tons of perforated ones for sale for under hundred bucks but I don't know if they're garbage on eBay?



Mr. Moparta and some others will be at the Spring Fling tomorrow and then I so I was thinking of picking up one then.

I'm not looking for factory correct but I think I could install this headliner myself if it's easy if I go at the Yorkshire.  I also like something to look nice. I'll try to do more research on that yorkshire.

Well there were no headliners for sale today at the mopar spring fling.

I was told by Herbs that the REM headliner is nice.  Does anyone agree?

The one in your link looks interesting.  It might be worth a try. 

The guy that did the bodywork on my car helped me install the headliner.  He had done them before.  I think you could probably do it yourself.  Just take your time and don't get in a hurry.  There is a nice step by step article on RestoRick's website.
