I decided to go with Recaros.

Specialist S, correct? Did you fab or buy the seat adapters? I've been eyeing these but I'd like to get my seat  in one before dropping  :alan2cents: :alan2cents:

LoL

I should have been more clear....

That's NOT my car. It's a Cuda known as HellFish that inspired my choice to use Recaro's.. I wont be doing as extensive of an interior as the owner of that car did. I don't want a center console, I don't want to overly modify the look of the inside of the car, I think these cars are beautiful and well designed as they are. I just think the stock seats leave a bit to be desired. I want to be comfortable, my daily drivers are very comfortable and I think I can achieve the same level or better of comfort in the Cuda as well.. It wont be cheap. :)

I am in the process of locating a Recaro dealer that can get these seats properly installed when the time is right. I am probably six months away from execution as the drivetrain, wiring and the bulk of the interior work is not done yet :)

if you google Cuda Hellfish there are a few articles and lots of pictures of that car.

In case anyone is considering the Jeg's seats, they put them on sale.  Was $165 now $130 with free shipping.

When I saw that pic posted by ledphoot I remember thinking to myself, "that ledphoot guy has some serious $$ to spend on his ride".

Seems like a lot to me at least :) LoL

But nowhere near $200K.. I will be in for $25-$30K before repaint...

Thought I'd drop this link in here to show how you could move back stock seats:

http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1416211 (scroll down half way)

I was playing with this tonight and found a glaring problem with the Yearone adaptors. They do not provide any sunk hardware so if you use what they give you - the head of the forward bolts hit the tracks and cause problems.

Now I have to go find a couple -  5/16-18 flathead hex stainless screws and make them work.

How was the rail mod on these? Looking for a fairly easy mod as I sadly have no welding experience.
I can cut pry and bolt real well though :)

@gzig5
Are these bolt right on or do they require a rail mod?

The E-body floor is not flat and the supplied tracks are not the same width as the OE holes. I only mounted the driver seat before the car got blown apart and I made a couple of simple brackets from 5/16" flat bar with vertical spacers on one side.  Nothing sophisticated and could be accomplished with hand tools, though a drill press and metal cutting band saw would speed it up.  If I can get to them easily, I'll post a pic of the brackets.  This was a temporary setup and I'd do something a bit nicer for a permanent install.
