Has anyone documented the weight difference between a Gen3 motor compared to say a 340 or 360?
Curious about the compete running package (all accessories) not just the block.
I'm guessing the basic engine may be less, but isn't there a lot of added components on the newer engines?

My bet is the Gen 3 weighs less
Better block desin lighter & stronger , lighter rods & pistons , alum heads , Plastic intake , what extra do you have on the front ? still have ALt , PS , Water pump , if you have AC the compresser is far lighter thab the V2 , a couple of serpentine idler pullies 8 ign coils instead of one .

With the install take into account the wiring....

That was my thinking, with all the bits and pieces probably not much weight difference.
New motors have many more sensors, control modules, wiring and probably some other stuff I'm missing.

Don't get me wrong, the tech upgrade is amazing, but probably not going to drop any weight.

Close to a LA smallblock if these sources are accurate... Swap to aluminum heads & intake an your probably about the same
