Hello E-bodies,
I am very happy to have joined the best E Body website in the world, especially this year with the 50 years of E body.
I bought my Barracuda 70 now over 18 years ago and have never driven this car. 18 years that I restore my car with several changes of orientation during these many years. (Not very glorious ..)
My Barracuda is one of the 23 cars sold new in France by Chrysler France and one of the first three Barracuda to arrive in France in late 1969.
(Forgive my american, I help myself with Google translate)
My car:
Barracuda 1970 Alpine white
Engine : 340
Transmission : 727
Rear axle : 8 ¾ 3.23 with sure grip
Steering with power assist and Front sway bar
Brake: Front : Disc with power assist Rear : Drum 11 ''
Dual exhausts system with tips in rear valance
Interior : Bucket seats black, console, rallye gauge cluster, slapstick shifter, power windows

One evening in October 2001 more than 18 years ago upon arrival at home. I am its second owner.

Do you have a build sheet, what would an import car have for a fender tag? Cool car in it's original appearance.

Mopsquad

Bienvenue!  This is a fantastic site and we look forward to seeing more of your car.

By the way, my '70 convertible came from France too, via Belgium.

usraptor

:welcome: from Utah.  Great options on your car.  So what are your plans for the car?

cuda hunter

Welcome from Colorado!

I'm dying to know the fender tag question.  What did it have?  Any specific tags that are unique to France?
Did it retain it's build sheet?

Thanks for this welcome!
Cars sold new in France by Chrysler France in 1970 (Barracuda 340 and Challenger 383) have no plates, build sheet or fender tag. These cars were assembled in Rotterdam to avoid import taxes.

A single SIMCA plate with VIN on my Barracuda. SIMCA Brand bought by Chrysler and named Chrysler France in 1970.

Hello soundcontrol, We are almost neighbors. My second passion is the Saab.  :sweden:

Thanks anlauto, For your few words in French  :bradsthumb:

JS29, I hope my photo answers your questions on the plates.

Mopsquad, Beautiful auto and French ... And returned to the country  :crying:

CudaMoparRay  :handshake:

usraptor and jimynick, Soon I will tell you about these 18 years of adventure and these multiple changes of orientation in my restoration.

cuda hunter and chris NOS,  Only one specific tag in France no fender tag, no Build sheet

cudamadd Happy to finally meet a real connoisseur. The French only know Dodge Charger (Smokey and the Bandit) and Ford Mustang (Bullit)

Benlavigne Merci pour votre proposition et si en plus c'est en français. Je penserai à vous!

i didn't know for no fender tag on cars made in Rotterdam , but on the Cuda officially imported by Chrysler:simca france ,made in USA,  they had the fender tags and the French plate .
