New Member in Socal

New member here, thought I'd say hi.

Picked up my 70 Challenger R/T back in 95 and used it as my daily driver back in college. Eventually drove it less and less until it ended up sitting for a few years. Now I'm trying to bring it back to life and hopefully get some help from my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter.

It's a 383/727 car in plum crazy. Power steering, power drums, rear window defogger. From what I was told by the guy I bought it from, I'm the 3rd owner, with the original owner blowing the original motor while running from the cops.

Right now I'm trying to go through the fuel system and determine which new tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump to get. Just pulled the radiator and am hoping that it just needs to be redone, probably get a new water pump as well. Then assuming it'll fire back up, I can find a good disc brake kit and suspension kit.

using the drum brake spindles is best for most aftermarket disc conversions , DR Diff in Mt has some good stuff , or you could adapt Viper Calipers to a factory 12" Cordoba rotor , lots of options .
Sprctra makes the best Fuel Tank ,
Hotkiss for suspension , depends what you think you have in mind , Hotchkiss makes great upgrade parts without rethinking the whole factory system . :alan2cents:

Wow,  what a welcome!  Looks like I have found a home here.

@autoxcuda   I'm out here in the Inland Empire, kind of far from Granada Hills. When are your meetings? Went out to Fall fling last year I'll be there for spring fling.

It's amazing how many parts are available for these cars now.  Back in the day, you couldn't find anything for a Mopar, let alone an e body.

I think we are past the peak of the curve now , a lot of parts have become available but it seems that some of the parts are dropping off again .
Brakes are difficult , I have seen too many conversions where the results of upgrades are not even an improvement so this needs to be thought through carefully , other members here are struggling right now also .
I have found a lot of suspension "upgrades" are not , also  you can spend a lot of $$ but not really improve things , there are some great parts to improve the stock system that can get you cornering close to or past 1g though using much larger torsion bars , massive hollow sway bars & fully adjustable shocks as well as composite rear leaf springs .

Good to know about the parts quality. The local Mopar shop was talking about wilwood brakes last time I was in there. When it's all done, I'm not looking for a race car, just something that lives up to what it is, and is safe. Motor-wise, I think I'd like to end up closer to 450+hp with good driveability.

Big MOPAR Welcome to you from SoCal also. Where at in the Inland Empire are you? I'm in the IE also. Riverside here. Looks like we both have '70 Challengers mine is Go-Mango EK2 but have always loved Plum Crazy FC7, but when the opportunity came up I purchased the one I have.   Thanks,   Al
