Anybody willing to pick this column up in Carlisle and ship it to France ?  :france:

I had a new member, @Lilian  email about it.

$50 is nearly giving that column away.  It's just missing the crush can and a steering wheel.  And now with the floor shift column parts Tony is selling anyone can make that a floor shift column pretty easy.

Looks like it has the lockout tube.  Might be a 1970 column, right?  In 1971 didn't they move that lockout feature to the collar?

Cuda Cody

If I was driving back from Carlisle I would buy that column in 2 seconds.    :headbang:  Guessing this is going to be the first of many deals I wish I could buy.

Seriously ? I don't think you thought that comment through @Cuda Cody ....I'll let you think about that a little longer

I'm pretty sure it's the shift lever instead of lockout your seeing. Column shift won't have the lockout because the ignition switch locks the shift mechanism from coming out of park.

  Okay, I gotcha.   :bigthumb:   Not afraid to admit I over looked something.  :sorry:   I looked at the key cylinder and it looked brushed, then I saw the arm on the tube and instantly thought 1970.  It's been awhile since I've done a column shift car.  Sorry I messed that one up.  Either way, it's still a heck of a deal.     And easy to make a floor shift column if anyone wants too.  Really wish I was driving back so I could buy it and all the other great deals there always seems to be at Carlisle.

News flash, a column shift column basically is a 70 column with the shifter attached.... The shift tube and lower lever are the same as the 70 shifter interlock, it doesn't have the thumb lever cause the shifter turns the collar that prevents the key going to the lock position..... Cody was closer to right that he was given credit for...

I almost posted this yesterday in the 8 track for sale thread but let it go... This time I gotta say it....
Why does it fall on others to be the good guy?  You expect people to ship to you but your to busyl to ship stuff....  You want to sell stuff, find a way to ship it.... Hell I give stuff away & find a way to get it shipped... What makes you so special.....

Cuda Cody

First off, I will say both anlauto and 1 Wild R/T are special.      You both bring a lot to the site and I really appreciate you both sharing all your knowledge.  We are a better forum with you guys here.  So I do not have a horse in this race (other then I wish Alan would ship parts because I would buy a lot of what he puts up for sale).   8)   I can see both sides of the shipping thing.  I get a lot of parts shipped to me and I've shipped a lot of parts to people.  Sometimes it's not easy finding the time to get everything boxed up. so do the same thing when I don't want to ship parts...  I will put them up for sale with a low price so someone local will buy it.

When I have the time I do sell things and ship them too it's by far the best way to get a better price for the stuff.  This steering column for sale here or even on eBay would bring way more money (IMO), but he would need to ship it to get top dollar.  So I get that he has it priced low in hopes he does not have to ship it.  And he's letting people know that he will bring it to Carlisle for free if they want it.

For what it's worth, I shipped an original Hemi block last week and it took me several hours to get the wood and make a box to ship it.  The whole time I was thinking to myself, why did I say I would ship this thing.   :Thud:  But after it was done I felt good I could help someone that needed the engine.   :alan2cents:

1 Wild R/T

I shipped this to Alan....  Well Alan arranged the truck, I crated it, loaded it & watched it leave....

Cuda Cody

Dang, I like your crate better then mine.   :clapping:  That's a great way to ship them with the strap up to the top to hold it.  Good thinking.

1 Wild R/T

That engine wasn't going anywhere without it's pallet...

anlauto

I'm an arsehole, that's why I don't like shipping things. :alan2cents:  The time alone to find a box for a steering column, pack it so it doesn't get damaged (buying bubble wrap etc)......then take it to a post office.....Find out it cost $50-$60 to ship it to the States, which the buyer only complains about.... :pullinghair: I get paid by the hour, and only when I'm working, not when I'm running around doing this crap. It's bad enough the time I waste dealing with KiJiJi idiots. :steamingmad: This column is not mine, I sell parts for my customer's and only keep 20% so I really don't want to waste my time for $10.00.

As Cody states, this column is worth double at least of what I'm asking...I know that, I'm not stupid....I've priced it to sell.

All these years I never put together that it was "1 Wild R/T" that sold and SHIPPED me the motor I used in the Barrelcuda. I guess my memory is getting old too. :tired: Thank you......If you hadn't agreed to SHIP me that motor, I would have had to buy someone else's motor. :worship:
