I did a bit of an experiment this year.   I needed two resto batteries.   I ordered one from the Batterycentralmall and one from Year One.    Same time.   It did take a few weeks to get them, maybe about 8, but...the batterycentral mall website provided clear updates on when the batteries were being made.     Both came about the same time.    Both were from the batrterycentralmall guys.    The batteries are really, really, nice.    New AGM guts, very light weight, clear instructions on how to maintain.    Shipped well packed.   Both have much better starting energy than what I had which was the previous gen, also badly aged.     I am really happy I waited, really like the batteries.

I thought about ordering from them, but by the time they got here they would be just over $600 CDN for a battery, which I would have a hard time justifying to my customers... :crying:

Got mine from https://jimsbatterymfg.com/ last Winter, took a few weeks, good communication though. They have taken over Antique Auto Battery and are getting the business up-to-date. If I'm not mistaken, they are the ones who actually manufacture them for everyone else...

The back log issue is because the cases are made in Mexico then shipped to USA.
They do  a lot of Corvette cases is what they told me.

Odyssey battery is then installed inside.

Allow 10-15 weeks lead time. Order now and see it by Christmas could be a reality?
Ever changing back log. Late year may be a better time to order.

Like Alan said, "wish they were cheaper", but, for the meantime, or until I win some lottery and can afford various things for the car. I. Picked up the battery cover with green caps and the decals to resemble a genuine group 24 battery. Better than seeing a Wallyworid Everstart. Thanks,   Al

Since I have my new AGM Battery I no longer have a need for the Acid type since it has a very small crack in the side of the case that opened up when I charged it, also the top has a perimeter piece broken but is still attached...so since there's seems to be a need for a budget battery here... I will let it go for $50 if anyone wants to come to Akron, Ohio and get it..this isn't a for sale ad but just an offer in case anyone want to repair a small crack and use it or just use it for a show battery...Just so were clear I will not ship it so please don't ask.
