1970 340 T/A six pack motor. Complete from air cleaner to oil pan. Rebuilt (just finished), carbs, heads, .30 over block.
VIN number: JH23JOB281111
Block number: 357713D.T.A.340.8
Carb numbers are: LIST-4790, 4792, and 4789
Intake number: 3418681
Heads:3418915B
Contacted Barry Washington to verify the VIN being from a Challenger T/A last known in California in 1984. The motor was noted in case the car surfaced.
The engine was found in a 1973 Challenger 340 4-speed that was sitting in a California garage since the mid-1980s.

Biggest thing that I have been schooled on is everyone says these are worth the 12K - 15K amount....but no one wants to pay for it.

That does appear to be the truth.  I think the true value is around 7-8K. These engines seem to get snatched up around that price but when higher, they sit around in the garage waiting for a cradle.   As it appears anyway.

So ask for shipping help? I have sold a lot of engines. I bolt them to an metal engine cradle, seal them, bolt them to a home made hardwood custom pallet (Size matters) and ship them UPS freight or go to an LTL service. Its pretty simple. Again, first step is negotiating the engine price if people are serious...then worry about the Shipping $$$. I have even driven engines to the buyer. People are focused more on slapping a cheap 360 into a car rather than getting it right.

No.  Not by any means.  If anything the value of the motor goes up when the vin is known.  I have far less interest in the motor without the vin. 
When the vin is out there, here, on google, etc.etc. there is a lead for the person who might have the original car that the engine belongs to.

If that engine were for my AAR, I would have already driven there and negotiated with you, or whomever.   

It's very difficult to equate an original motor to more than a 10K value on a multi carb car.  At least that is what it seems. 
If I had my original 440/6 the value of the car certainly wouldn't go up more than 10K.  I feel this is why the motors that are above that 10K mark just have a very slow time moving.   

I'm no expert by any means.  Don't listen/read what I just said.  Just my opinion.
